1. Why Meditation for Peace?

  • It's guided so it is more easy to be focussed

  • It generates a lot of positive emotions which color the attitude of the practitioner

  • You bring down tremendous amounts of energy, which the practitioner can share with family, friends, organization, country and the world.

  • It is easy to reach the meditative state because of it's positive orientation

2. Can I use mudras or chant mantras ?

    • We don't use mudras because each mudra has a connection to a particular chakra, which could get over energized.
    • Since OM is chanted during the meditation, there is no need to chant any other mantra. However a person is free to chant mantras if he so chooses when not meditating. In the Silence version, a person can chant his or her own sacred word

3. What is energy?

Prana or Ki is that vital energy or life force which keeps the body alive and healthy. In Greek it is called pneuma , in Polynesian mana and in Hebrew ruah , which means breath of life.

TOP

4. Can I say my prayer and invoke for blessings from my Guru?

Yes. The meditation does not endorse any particular or specific religion and therefore the practitioner can invoke for the blessings and protection of the Guru of his choice or his religious leader or the God he believes in.

TOP

5. Why invoke for blessings ?

Since we are bringing down higher energies during meditation , it is safer to seek the blessings and guidance of the chosen Guru. This is for the well being of the practitioner. At the end of the meditation ,we thank the Guru for his blessings and guidance.

TOP

6. What is the duration of the meditation?

Just the meditation takes 23 minutes. This is the longer version. There is a shorter version which is 15 minutes.

There is no specific posture for the meditation. The only requirement is that the spine and neck should be erect.

TOP

While any time is fine, we have found that mornings are best since we can use the positive energy of the meditation during the entire day and this helps us at work and in our interactions during the day.

9. Can I eat before meditating?

Unless one is going to eat very very lightly, it is advisable to do the meditation before having any meal. However it is okay to drink any beverage or eat a couple of biscuits if one is very hungry.

10. How often should I meditate ?

It can be done once a day everyday of the week or as often as possible. The more regularly and frequently one practices the faster are the benefits visible. This is because the effect of the energy is cumulative.

12. If I am practicing any other meditation do I have to stop doing it before I can practice the Meditation for Peace?

The practitioner can do any other meditation and also Meditation for Peace. He/She must make sure that he does not suffer from excess energy. Perhaps the best method would be to do the meditation on alternate days.

13. What is excess energy?

When a person practices any form of meditation he brings down a lot of higher energies which can be used for his own well being and to bless his family, organization, country etc. However it does happen that the physical body cannot absorb all the energy brought down during the meditation even after blessing others. When this happens he experiences a feeling of lethargy, the head and /or the body feels heavy. Over a period of time the person starts feeling extremely tired. This is why he needs to do physical exercises which releases the excess energy.

TOP

14. Why physical exercise?

To cleanse and energise the energy body, which also removes any blocks or accumulation of used up energy in any part of the body, especially at the various joints. We need to exercise after the meditation in order to better assimilate the energy we receive during the meditation. This also helps to cleanse and strengthen the physical body and release excess energy. Beyond a point the physical body cannot absorb more energy and the physical exercise removes this excess. When there is excess energy the physical body feels lethargic, tired and in the long run will become weak. Exercise before and after meditation is very important.

15. Can I do the meditation when there are other people around, who are not practicing?

Yes, but it is advisable not to have small children in the same room as they are likely to get over energized, which is not good for their tender bodies.

TOP

16.Should the meditation be done only after a bath?

It is advisable to practice the meditation after a bath. The reason being that if a person bathes soon after the meditation a lot of the energy is washed away and so it is a waste of time and energy to practice the meditation.

TOP

17. Can I do other exercises also before and after the meditation?

Yes . The exercises prescribed on the cassette ensure that there is no congestion in any of the joints. Any other exercises like yoga, aerobics, walking, jogging etc are very good as they ensure that all the energy is absorbed or released.

TOP

18. If I do physical exercises in the morning do I need to exercise before the meditation? Or can I do exercises in the evening?
